Pre-Loved Books | Women's Weekly

Conveniently positioned in the heart of Asia, Malaysia offers an exotic mix of culinary delights - a cuisine heavily influenced by people from India, China, Indonesia and Sri Lanka who have all settled there. A wide variety of produce is used in the cooking - from tropical fruit and vegetables, rice, grains, meats and every type of seafood imaginable to a generous use of coconut milk, belacan, tamarind and different blends of spices. Traditionally, food is eaten with the hands but with the colonial influence of the Portuguese came the use of knives and forks. Malaysian food can be quite fiery; adjust th quantity of chillies as desired. Ocassionally, we have used an ingredient that may not be strictly authentic, but the completed recipes truly give you a taste of the fabulous flavours Malaysia has to offer.
